Trentino is since ever a crossroad and a junction of populations with antic traditions, land of the Council of Trento (1545) which has upset the Church after the Protestant Reformation, land of castles and transit of armies at all times, but also land inhabited of artists, sculptors, painters and poets. Also the inhabitants of Trentino show their passion towards the art with for example the Mart Museum, flagship of the reviews of Italian art.

CASTEL THUN

A 20 minutes drive from Fai, you can reach the imposing castle of the principles of Thun of the XIII° century. Perfect example of medieval fortified architecture of rare beauty and exceptional preservation and its inside presents richly furnished rooms.

CASTELLO DEL BUONCONSIGLIO

A 30 minutes drive from Fai, you can reach Trento with great possibilities for shopping and cultural visits. The most considerable is surely Castello del Buonconsiglio, the largest monumental unit in Trentino in which it is possible to admire many kinds of medieval and baroque frescoes, a rich collection of archeology, wooden sculptures, pictorial art and a fine collection of majolica stoves. Besides the permanent collection, spaces in the castle often give hospitality to temporary exhibitions.

MART

45 minutes drive from Fai to the largest exhibition space of modern art in Italy. Always updated with exhibitions of international importance. A modern space in the heart of the old town of Rovereto. The museum owns a permanent collection, which counts the most important names of contemporary and modern art with various temporary exhibitions from which you can find detailed information through the museum website.

MUSEUM OF FOLK LIFE AND FOLK CRAFTS

In a 15 minutes drive from Fai you can reach San Michel all'Adige, where you can visit the museum of folk life and folk crafts regarding the inhabitants of Trentino. A rich directory of objects and recreated environments which show the traditional life of our predecessors, articulated in 41 exhibition rooms on 4 floors, in the fortified monastery of San Michele all'Adige.

SANCTUARY OF SAN ROMEDIO

A 30 minutes drive from Fai you can reach the suggestive sanctuary clinging to a rocky spur. Mystical place by spiritual evocations, the beginnings of the building starts from the year 1000 and was dedicated to the Holy Bear. It's still possible to visit the bears in the fence of the sanctuary.
